Steel pipe Stops Truck in its Tracks

You may think you’re tough, but you’ll never be as tough as this steel pipe.
Newly released video shows a 6800kg truck barrelling towards the pipe at 80km an hour and coming to an abrupt halt.
While the pipe doesn’t budge, the truck’s bonnet and windscreen are thrown forward with incredible velocity.
Remarkably, the barrels full of explosives rigged to the back tray of the truck remain intact and undetonated.
The steel pipe has been developed by the Texas A&M Transportation Institute as a method to combat terrorists with car bombs.
“The focus is on keeping a terrorist from breaching the barrier,” research engineer Dean Alberson told the Texas Tribune.

The new device will be installed at US embassies within a year.
